Top Ten Tuesday: “Top Ten Tuesday Freebie”
Top Ten Tuesday is a fun way to spice up Tuesdays (because everyone hates Mondays, Wednesdays are the halfway point, Thursdays are “little Fridays”, and everyone knows about Fridays… :)) and it’s hosted by The Broke and Bookish.
So since this week was a freebie…I had to actually think! Thank goodness the girls over at The Broke and Bookish do all the thinking every week! So I decided that I would post up my top ten favorite book reviews from some of my favorite bloggers that I follow!
(These are not posted in any particular order…I love them all.)
I read this review and I cannot wait to get my hands on it! Amy does a great job in spelling out exactly what she loves and what she thinks the book may be lacking. I hope you’ll take the time to check out her blog and sign up because her reviews are great!
I read this review when it was published back in May and I immediately put the book on my TBR list at my library. Because of this review, I read the book and did a review on it myself! Pragya is always doing giveaways and is versatile in the books she reads and reviews…you should definitely check her site out!
Kayla’s reviews are to the point, but doesn’t lack in details. I loved this book and loved her review of it! It makes me want to re-read the book! 🙂 I’m a new”ish” follower of hers, but have enjoyed reading what she writes!
I can’t wait to get my hands on this book and reading this review by Celeste confirmed my itchy hands to hold it. The Book Hookup is run by 5 very talented bloggers and the site is always publishing new trailers for books, author interviews, a number of weekly memes, and is always on top of the new books being published. Definitely check their site out!!
So I didn’t pick one of Elizabeth’s positive book reviews. I think I enjoyed her “negative” review on Insurgent because everyone else’s review (including my own) was gaga for Insurgent and pretty much all said the same things. Elizabeth is always awesome with commenting and her reviews are great! Show her some love!
I’m somewhat of a new follower of Gretchen’s, but I loved her review on Grave Mercy! I’ve had the book twice from the library but find that I don’t have enough time to sit and read it! Her review makes me jealous! I enjoy her reviews and find myself liking the books she reads! 🙂
Lucy over at The Reading Date is amazing and I’ve been a follower of hers from around the beginning of when I first started blogging! Her reviews are awesome, she does giveaways, and she does reviews on books and audiobooks! I haven’t been able to listen to audiobooks, but her reviews of them really make me want to! I liked her review on Bossypants because I originally heard about the book and made the decision to not read it…it’s now on my TBR list because of this review. She has an awesome blog…go check it out!
Serena tackles all forms of “art” like music, movies, and books. She also covers issues like bullies, homosexuality, school violence, etc. I liked her review on The Fault in Our Stars because (confession) I haven’t read a John Green and this really made me want to read the book! I like reading her posts since her blog is so well rounded in keeping with youth and the different issues they face along with what they are reading/listening to! Check her blog out!
This isn’t a book review (I’m cheating on this one). I love reading the new posts on this site because David shares the ins and out of self-publishing, if it’s right for you, tips on if you publish on Amazon.com, etc. The posts are often times lengthy, but he writes well and they’re very informative. If you have any thoughts about self-publishing, I would recommend checking out his blog!
This girl is awesome! She’s in the middle of writing her own novel and has sent her queries out to publishers. Her blog is a lot about her journey and what she’s doing next in her writing stages, but she does movie reviews and things with books like the post I’m mentioning above. She is always commenting and stopping by my blog to read and “like” some of my posts…so go by her blog and share the love!
11 (extra): Mystmusician: Intuition by Amy Bartol
I HAD to put up one of my reviews! I have to be shameless! This review, by far, was one of my most “in the moment” book reviews that I’ve ever written. I loved the book and actually had to make myself stay seated when typing it out. Better yet…the author saw my review and offered to give me the next book in her series. I am an Amy Bartol fan for LIFE. Shameless obsession, just shameless. 🙂
