Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick

This book definitely redeemed the second one.  I loved how the author wrote this follow up.  It seemed like she was helping Patch have more of a redeeming quality while calming Nora down.  I couldn’t put it down and would shriek at scenes where I knew what was going to happen and just couldn’t warn the characters in time!  (I’m the type that freaks out in books and bites my nails and whispers to myself….does that make me crazy?)

Title: Silence (Hush, Hush #3)

Author: Becca Fitzpatrick

Summary (by Goodreads):

The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They’ve overcome the secrets riddled in Patch’s dark past…bridged two irreconcilable worlds…faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust…and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they’ve worked for—and their love—forever

My take:

I was so apprehensive to read this book.  After how frustrated I was at Patch and especially Nora in the last book….I was ready to almost give up on them.  Thank goodness I didn’t!!  This book basically started right up from when the last book ended and I did NOT want to put it down.

The preface shows Patch’s sacrifice in getting Nora back and what had to be done in order to help give her a normal life…wipe her memory.  Patch has himself and all the events around him completely erased out of her memory.  Poof!  So when Nora shows up and is taken home, she finds out that not only can she not remember the 3 month stint of her being kidnapped…she’s missing a whole half of  a year.  Every detail for the last 6 months is gone.

As she tries to figure out her past and what happened to her, she keeps running into people who mentions crazy words like “Nephilim” and “fallen angels” and most of all “Patch”.   She has connections and visions and memories that will randomly surface and as Nora runs around figuring it all out, her mom has started dating Hank Miller…aaaauuuggghhh!!!  For those of you who haven’t read the other books yet…you’ll understand soon enough!  Things start heating up in the race for Nora to gain her memory back in time to figure out who she really is and what is happening to her, while trying to find Patch and save Scott (aka: Scotty the hottie).

So…if you can get through the second book and calm yourself down, you’ll find book three to be a wonderful follow up.  Now all you have to do is wait for book 4…because book 3 had somewhat of a cliff hanger…not too bad, but you know for sure that the show ain’t over.
